What is Nutritional Therapy?

This naturopathic, drug free tool is a person centred therapy and focuses on the individual rather a named condition or disease. The aim is not simply to eliminate any symptoms but also to remove the underlying cause(s) of the symptoms. By changing the diet and the nutrients we eat, the body's inner balance can be improved considerably which will, in turn, improve health.
The health of the whole individual (body as well as mind) is considered when producing a detailed, highly individual dietary programme along with, in many cases, recommendations for the use of nutritional supplements. Nutritional deficiencies or excesses, genetic traits, environmental factors and lifestyle are taken into account before recommendations can be given.
The therapist's role is to provide the information, support and encouragement for the client to bring about their own healing through improving the function of the body's natural cleansing and defence mechanisms.
Physical, mental and emotional health are dependent on each other and as the nutrient balance of an individual improves, then so can physical and mental health.
